Our ingredients are simple. All natural, high quality organic cold pressed oils, butters, CO2 extracts, and hydrosols make up our formulas. Tremella Mushroom

What it is: Concentrated powder from tremella mushrooms

Also known as “snow mushroom”, tremella mushroom has been used in China for centuries and is said to have been used by one of the “Four Great Beauties”, Yang Guifei of the Tang Dynasty to maintain her youthful appearance. Like hyaluronic acid, tremella mushroom contains glucuronic acid, known to deeply hydrate and improve skin elasticity. It has been suggested that since the hydrating molecules of tremella are smaller than those of hyaluronic acid, the hydrating molecules of tremella are able to penetrate the skin faster and more effectively.

The main ingredient in our body butter, Shea Butter is extremely beneficial for protecting and regenerating skin. It does not clog pores and helps to heal wounds, reduce redness, and moisturizes dry and irritated skin.
Sourced from a women owned co-op in a small village of Northern Ghana, our shea butter contributes to building a community and empowering women.

Beeswax

An essential in our Body Butter and Cocoa Lotion Bar, Beeswax creates a protective barrier on the skin, sealing in oils to keep your skin moisturized all day long. Similar to honey, it contains antibacterial properties to help speed up the healing of wounds and other skin ailments.
Baobab Oil

Oil from the Baobab tree, also known as the "Tree of Life" as it provides food, water, and shelter to the indigenous people of Africa. The oil obtained from its seeds is rich in vitamins A, D, and E, as well as antioxidants.

What it is: Sugar alcohol from flax seeds

Unlike drying alcohols, glycerin is a thick and sticky sugar alcohol used as a humectant. Humectants are hygroscopic substances that form hydrogen bonds with water molecules. They work by pulling water from the dermis (the second layer of skin) to the epidermis (the top layer of skin). This process increases the level of moisture in the stratum corneum, the layer of dead cells that comprise the outermost crust of the epidermis. Humectants also encourage the shedding of dead skin cells by breaking down the proteins that hold the cells together. If the humidity is over 70%, humectants can even draw water vapor from the air to help moisturize the skin.

Lactobacillus is one of the species of microorganisms used to produce fermented products such as sauerkraut and kimchi. Like many members of the lactic acid bacteria family, Lactobacillus is capable of restricting the growth of other microorganisms by acidifying its environment. Lactobacillus ferment is helpful in killing harmful bacteria and creating a healthy balanced microflora, like a probiotic for your skin.

Extracted from the whole berry, Sea Buckthorn CO2 is extremely high in beta carotene, which gives it it’s rich red-orange color and is high in antioxidants for protecting skin from common environmental pollutants.

Sunflower oil is a staple in our skincare cabinets. This all-purpose oil does not clog pores, and contains high amounts of vitamins A and E. It aids in skin moisturizing and soothes inflamed skin.

Cucumber is composed largely of proteins, lipids, vitamin C, and a variety of minerals, and possesses moisturizing and emollient properties. It also has an astringent effect, and can soothe and relieve puffy skin.

Just like the root itself, Turmeric CO2 is highly anti-inflammatory due to its curcumin content. It improves skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, evens out skin tone from hyperpigmentation, and reduces acne causing bacteria.
Our turmeric powder comes from Diaspora Co, a queer WOC owned spice company dedicated to putting money, equity, and power into the hands of Indian farmers.

Derived from sunflower seed oil, vitamin E is a viscous oil used in small amounts with strong antioxidant properties to preserve oils from oxidizing as well as fighting free radicals to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Our favorite cooling and calming ingredient: aloe vera. Our aloe vera is fractionally distilled to avoid the use of preservatives, but still contains vitamin B9 (folic acid) and minerals like magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc. Perfect for relieving sunburns or dry, itchy, and irritated skin.
Holy Basil Hydrosol

Also known as tulsi, holy basil is a sacred plant of India favored by lord Krishna, used to produce detachment, faith and devotion - it opens the heart to bring harmony to the mind and is emotionally strengthening when suffering fear or sadness.
It also possesses anti-inflammatory and cleansing properties, reduces acne, tones, and tightens skin.
